In 1987 after attending Jacksonville State University, majoring in business, Charles Dixon’s entrepreneurial spirit led the desire to own his own company. He began learning about the industry when a friend started a cleaning company in Dallas. This eventually led to Charles starting his own business locally, which eventually transitioned into Charles Dixon Industries (CDI).

Charles’s mission from the beginning was to maintain the highest standard of customer service and to provide competitive and quality janitorial services to a variety of institutions. Currently serving greater Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Charles has 36 years of committed service and dedication to his family-owned business.

Charles’s wife, Melissa Dixon, is the Vice President of CDI Janitorial. Melissa is a retired educator with a master’s degree in education. After teaching for over 25 years, she decided to retire from teaching and apply her skills to their business.  

Melissa is very hands-on, making sure every detail is met with the clients. It wouldn’t be surprising to see her with a uniform on and mop in hand to help whenever needed. You’ll often find Melissa present on building tours, initial cleanings, and doing quality assurance checks.
